Welcome to Creekside K-9 College
As Principal of Creekside K-9, I am honoured to be leading a diverse and aspirational school community in Caroline Springs. Creekside K-9 College was once a campus of Caroline Springs College, but since demerging, a strong identity has been established through outstanding leadership, a dedicated staff and engaged school community. As Principal, I lead a team that has an unwavering commitment to achieving excellent outcomes for students.
In the classroom, we implement a comprehensive curriculum program that caters to the needs of all our learners. We ensure a high level of consistency across the college through an embedded instructional model and a highly collaborative professional learning community. Being a P-9 College, we operate in three distinct sub-schools. K-2, 3-6 and 7-9. A great strength of the college is that we are able to provide a tailored program based on the developmental needs of our learners from 3 years of age to 15 years of age.
At the core of our vision is to ensure students develop the skills, knowledge and dispositions to be successful in the next stage of their learning. The building blocks for this are skill development in literacy and numeracy. The college utilses evidence based approaches in every classroom. Alongside of this, the school offers programs in Humanities, Science, Auslan, French, Health, PE & the Arts. This comprehensive program provides our students with the ability to achieve success.
As a school we pride ourselves on the ability to maintain a safe and orderly learning environment. It is critical for young people to have boundaries and learn in a calm environment. We build strong routines utilising the school wide positive behaviour framework. In addition to this, the school has developed a strong allied health team that includes psychologists, speech pathologists and youth workers. We have the ability to support all students no matter their situation.
The school also runs successful house and student leadership programs. We aim to have students build strong connections with their peers and teachers when at the college. Alongside this, we have a healthy extra curricular program in sports, excursions, camps and clubs. Our positive school culture is underpinned by our values of Respect, Responsibility, Acceptance and Honesty.
The school website provides additional information about the program that we offer at the college from Kinder to Year 9.
